About Watsonville
The rich fertile soils of
the Pajaro River Valley in which Watsonville is located have naturally
drawn and supported people for thousands of years. The Pajaro Valley
is one of the world’s largest agricultural centers famous for its strawberries,
apples, cut flowers and ethnic diversity. Living in this community
means the benefit of its ideal location in the “Banana Belt” region of
the central coast area. Its close proximity to Santa Cruz, Monterey
and San Jose make this a very desirable location for many to call home.
If you happen to drive
through this diverse community you will notice the outstanding examples
of a very large variety of architectural styles from the turn of the century.
From beautiful restored Victorians and Craftsman styles, to more modern
suburban homes.
There are also many modern
buildings including very nice shopping areas and lots of excellent local
dining opportunities.
If country living is
more your style, the area also has a large “horse” community. At any given
time there are many ranches available for sale, with or without facilities,
crops etc.
The next time you fly in
to Watsonville for lunch at the on-site restaurant, give some thought to
touring around the city.
