What To Take To Your Application

From application to closing, the loan process typically takes about 30 days. You can help speed the process by bringing all the necessary information with you when you apply for your mortgage loan. Here's what lenders recommend you bring with you to your loan application appointment:

 1. Employment history for the past two years, including employers' phone numbers and your monthly income, and a written explanation for any gaps in employment.

 2. Pay stubs for the most recent month.

 3. W-2 forms for the past two years.

 4. Federal tax returns for the last two years, including all schedules (not always required - ask.)

 5. Bank account statements for the past three months.

 6. Creditors names, addresses, account numbers, amount owed for all credit cards, cars, credit union, school, or any other loan.

 7. Your check book. Most lenders will require a check for a credit report and appraisal at the time you submit your application.

 8. Your current mortgage with account number or landlord name, address and phone # if renting - or 12 canceled checks.
